Professor Evans walked into her classroom. She flicked her wand at the bored and the words, 'How to transfigure an object into a Goblet'. Underneath it were the instructions.
'The incantation is Ferraverto. Before you say the spell, you must tap the object, which in your case is the animal infront of you, three times.'
There were animals on each desks for the students, as there were no students in the class yet, so she just sat at her desk and waited.

Ariel walked into her first Transfiguration class. She was excited, the second she looked at the board. So far all her classes had been pratical lessons, this hadn't broken the line. She chose a desk near the door, so when class was over she wasn't caught in the bussle to get out. Setting her book bag under her desk, she checked her wand was in her pocket. In front of her sat a bird, though she couldn't tell what kind of bird it was. She awaited more people to enter the class.

Sean walked into the classroom. He saw only one other student was in the class and he was about to burst. He relly was never this early and this was about the 5th class he had been second in.
He gave a small grunt and walked over to a seat to the far right of the class. On his desk was a small toad. The toad just looked at Sean and Sean stared back.
"Hello." Sean said and the toad croaked...

Amelia swept into the transfiguration classroom, finally free of the heavy reading material that had weighted her down all morning. She had made a brief stop by the library to return a few books just prior to coming here, so now she had only her transfiguration text and other class materials as she found a seat near the front of class.
In front of her sat a ferret type animal, long and furry and, from the looks of it, asleep. Upon reading the board's instructions she discovered the lesson plan for the day and took out her wand in preparation.

Lorelai smiled as she walked into the classroom. Transfiguration had always been her best class and she was eager to get started.
Taking a seat near the middle of the class, she looked up at the board, then down at her desk, finding a hamster running around in circles. Well, this is bound to be interesting. she thought, taking her wand out of her pocket.

Although one of his favorite classes, transfiguration was not Mark's best one. As he entered the classroom he looked around and chose a seat with a toad placed on the table. He always felt that toads were easy to transfigure.
I might as well use an animal I do well with he thought as he sat down in his seat

Ferraverto, Ferraverto, Ferraverto... Amelia thought, giving her wand a few practice waves between twirling it between her fingers. The last thing she wanted to do was get the incantation wrong, so she set her mind upon getting at least that correct before speaking.
Ok, got it. Here we go... she thought, tucking a bit of golden-red hair behind her ears and raising her wand. A gentle movement of her wand made with practiced grace and her spell was underway.
Ferraverto! She said firmly, three taps on the ferret who seemed to have awoken at least a bit now that he seemed to be the center of something rather important. After the third tap she could see faint ripples run through the animal's fur, followed by his tail transforming into the base of a gold goblet. As the trasnformation progressed she could see the outline of the drinking object beginning to form, but just as she was beginning to anticipate success on the first try the transfiguration stopped, leaving her with a goblet that was still half hairy.
I don't think this will do..... Amelia thought, examining her work with a distasteful eye.

Shelley walked in and sat herself near the back of the class. She noticed the board and smiled changing things into goblets. She nodded in approval and the rat that sat in front of her. She had always been good at transfiguration it only ever took her three goes before she got it right. But then again things change at times. She waved her wand, tapping her rat three times and muttered the incantation under her breath waiting for something to happen.

Ariel pulled out her wand and looked at the bird. A certain feather had been clipped so it couldn't fly. She almost felt sorry for it. She sighrd, being turned into a goblet was worse, and that was it's unfortunate fate. She raised her wand then tapped it three times. In her head she thought the word. This was so she was ready. She got ready for the real try.

Lorelai excitedly grabbed her wand, watching the hamster in front of her continue to run around in circles. Attempting to tap it with her wand, she found that the small animal would just run away from it. "No, no this won't do." She waved her wand, using a freezing charm on the hamster, who immediatley stopped at the incantation.
She tapped the animal several times, saying 'Ferraverto' over and over in her head. Smiling, once she finally thought she knew how to do the spell, she tapped the hamster once with her wand, waiting for the reaction.
"Ferraverto"

Melody walked in to see other students already there and already working on the charm on the board. Taking a seat, Melody takes out her wand and follows the directions to change the exotic bird into a goblet. She tapped the bird three times and says, "Ferraverto."

She watched as her rat gave a squeak and took on the form of the goblet. Although it still had a tail and ears and whiskers it had the shiny appearance of a goblet. Oh well at least it was a good first try she thought and smiled as her goblet gave a squeak

A smile broke out on Lorelai's face as the statue-like hamster in front of her changed shape. It's legs quickly formed the base and turned silver, the rest of the hamster soon following suit until a shiny silver goblet sat on her desk. Looking around the room, Lorelai noticed that noone else had managed to successfully turn their animal into a goblet much like her own.
Not even a Ravenclaw has done it yet? She asked herself, confused at how she performed the spell on the first try, something she hadn't managed to do in transfiguration during all her years at Hogwarts. Sitting back in her chair, she waited for the others in the class to perform it.

Amelia, her head now level with the deformed goblet on her desk, was surveying it with a distasteful eye as she held her wand at the ready. She would never settle for less than perfection, and this was much, much below her norm. Taking a steadying breath she rasied her wand and swept over the object in a well nutured motion.
Comepiteo Prior! She said, causing the previous spell to resume motion and allow her to complete the transformation of her ferret into the golden goblet that now stood before her, four emeralds emblazing the side in all it's shiny glory.
Much better...
